Welp it’s May

For various reasons, which I will get to later, I have really failed at documenting the mundane of new life in Penang. Ever the person to fall into the trap of perfectionism, time to rip off the procrastibandaid and just do a boring post.

To check out some Mother’s Day sales, Ken picked me up from work so that we could hit Gurney Plaza. After a bit of a detour on his way (there are no warnings of “Last exit before 15 mile-long bridge”) in which Ken had to drive Second Bridge twice to get to me, we spent 65 minutes in the car from Batu Kawan to Gurney.

Hunger set in during the drive so our first stop was the food court. Since I’ve been scolded by my OB for my weight gain 🙄, I opted for veg with a build your own yong tau foo soup bowl. Items are priced between 2-5 ringgit each with 4 options for soup. Hand your bowl over and in 5 minutes, a warm noodly bowl is returned.

My bowl was a bit of a splurge tbh at 22 ringgit ($5.30) but chock full of veggies.

Did laps of the mall to get some steps in, sadly discovering that the taro flavor for 50 cent soft serve cone at Mixue was a limited time offer, before heading to Mothercare.

For $7 you can have a pet quail
It’s a car seat!

Did I break the dry spell? We shall see!
