Touchdown Tokyo

After a weekend side quest to New York, I started my Tuesday at 4 am eastern with a 6 am LGA-MSP flight. I said bye to Ken 😭 and spent possibly my first layover at MSP. After a four-hour layover which included an hour delay, 12 hours in the air, a stuffy hour through Japanese border control and 20 minutes on the train in the middle of rush hour thanks to the delay, I exited JR Kanda station at 6 pm on Wednesday onto a street bustling with office workers commuting or meeting up for dinner.

I was hit with a very surreal feeling, which I chalked up to having had a very long day that started in New York.

After exploding my luggage contents throughout my room, I went on a quick errand to Montbell (Japanese REI) to pick up a cable lock, some tubes, a rinko bag (Japanese bike hiding bag) and a camping eating utensil kit.

Kyobashi Monberu, very pretty

Though my hotel is surrounded by cheap tasty options, I went for a Lawson dinner in my room. Had enough of being around people for today. Splurged on some ¥365 mentaiko to go with my ¥333 ochazuke.

Combini food starts getting discounted in the evening, very alluring

Made it to 9:30 pm to stave off the jetlag, put on my hotel jammies and sleep!

スーツさんalso makes a Lawson stop as I continue studying his Nakasendo series.
